Change for Change “Changing Lives with Loose Change”
We are excited to announce that St. John’s is about to begin the third year of the “Change for Change” program. Thanks to your generosity we have contributed nearly $4,000 to many great causes in two short years.
The next organization we are donating to is the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. This foundation provides research to find a cure for this horrible disease while at the same time searching for better ways to treat people currently afflicted.
If you have a cause you would like us to donate to please let one of the committee members know.
We are truly grateful to all who participate in the “Change for Change” program and please remember to bring in your jars to remind everyone about this program.

St. John's Commitment to Millenium Development Goals
In 2005 St. John's Vestry voted to support the Diocesan Resolution calling for parishes to give .07% of their operating budget in support of the MDG's. St. John's strengthened the resolution by giving a full 1.0% in MDG related giving. Info on yearly donations available upon request.
St. John's contributes to Publication for Anglican Women's Empowerment
Last year, our contribution towards the Millenium Development Goals was used to produce the Booklet "Human Trafficking: Freeing Women, Children, and Men. This resource is being used to educate groups about the continuing problem of human trafficking and ways that we can be engaged to help end it.

Food Bank Donations
We collect non-perishable food for the food bank in New Milford.
This month, we will be collecting personal care items - toilet paper, feminine hygiene products, shampoo, soaps, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deoderant, disposable razors, and shaving cream. These items are not covered by food stamps and are needed desperately.
Each month, we bring forward the donations to be blessed with our offering as part of our worship. Please be generous, and next time you are in the grocery store, pick up something for someone who can't shop for themselves.
